Job Specification

My client is a major Bank based in London (City) with an outstanding reputation as one of the leading banks both Globally and pan-European in Commercial Lending and Corporate & Investment Banking.

We are currently looking for a Associate / Assistant Vice President who will work closely with the Front Office Relationship Managers and Origination Teams and partner them in an advisory capacity through conducting in-depth Corporate Credit analysis, deep credit research and offering insightful market intelligence.

This role will suit an experienced Credit Research professional from the Sell-side or the Buy-side with the relevant technical skills who can influence senior stake-holders, effect change and build networks.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Ensuring suitable processes are in place to help the early identification of threats to the bank's portfolio.
  • Devising and communicating effective and efficient hedging strategies, both at the portfolio level and transactional level and providing advice into managing existing hedge positions and their P&L.
  • Driving initiatives to embed early warning, credit-related stress testing facilities
  • Conducting fundamental and relative value-based credit research activities.
  • Fully engage over market colour and price moves in the credit market.
  • Strive to become the subject matter expert on market perceptions of credit risk and coordinating their effective and efficient risk communication to other stakeholders in the bank.
  • Performing project work as required and in support of the above.

Required Experience

  • Proven bottom-up Credit analysis and / or Credit Research in the Corporates space is a key requirement.
  • Financial or credit analysis qualification (CFA, CQF, etc) preferred but not essential.
  • Degree educated (Business, Economics, or relevant subject) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ideally of 2-5 years relevant experience in credit or fixed income management.
  • Prior experience in a credit strategy / portfolio strategy or asset management role would be an advantage
  • Solid stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential
  • Strong MS Excel and Bloomberg preferred.
  • Knowledge of portfolio simulation software would be helpful.
